The MCPHS Pillar Society is a donor recognition and reward organization that celebrates MCPHS alumni and friends who affirm their commitment to the University through legacy gifts. You qualify for membership in the Pillar Society when you notify us that MCPHS is in your estate plan, or when you make one or more life-income gifts.
The Society is named for the massive stone pillars that adorn and support the historic façade of the George Robert White Building on the Boston campus. Through their foresight and philanthropy, Pillar Society members support future generations of MCPHS students and faculty committed to education, research, and public service.
Legacy gifts are among powerful tools that benefit students, faculty and programs at MCPHS. Legacy giving allows you to align philanthropic interests with your income needs, while also providing for your heirs. Through favorable tax treatment given to many legacy gifts under both state and federal law, you can reduce or eliminate income, capital gains, gift, estate and inheritance taxes. Moreover, you can enjoy tax savings and turn appreciated assets into income for yourself or others.
Legacy gifts are typically made in conjunction with estate planning, and are viable options for donors of all income levels. We recommend that you engage the professional counsel of an attorney who specializes in estate planning. Please explore Legacy Giving site to learn more about many of the more popular, as well as cost and tax-efficient, legacy giving tools.
Thank you for your interest in planned giving at MCPHS, and membership in the prestigious Pillar Society.
